Strategic Goals

At the highest level of the performance measurement hierarchy, we have strategic goals. Those should move us closer to our vision with our purpose in mind. We have decided to limit ourselves to 3 goals, so one for each dimension of the Triple Bottom Line:

• SG1 – Enable sustainable and circular supply chains

• SG2 – Support the transition to renewable energy sources

• SG3 – Build a sustainable business

One UN SDG that is built into our operation model is “17 – Partnership for the Goals”, so we don’t need to make it a specific goal, that is part of our performance measurement.

We don’t have any explicit financial goals, as we believe sustainable financials are the outcome of our activities. Also, financial results are a lagging indicator of success according to the Balanced Scorecard approach and we rather want to focus on leading indicator, so we are able early enough to intervene if the business is heading in the wrong direction.
